Happy Birthday to Kevin (Sunday) and Alexis (Monday)! They get their very own blog post! Lisa (aka, blog writer) was off earlier in the week but came back for the birthday celebration, so here's a recap of their special day!
🥳🥳🥳
Friday, October 25
After a dance warm up that featured Kevin's and Lexi's favorite songs, we made cards for each of them and set up a dual birthday board.
Games were next on the agenda. Kevin enjoys puzzles and puzzle-type games, so we played several versions of an online matching game from the National Geographic website. It was fun, and we learned interesting things, such as what krill are (small, shrimp-like crustaceans) and that penguins eat it!
Kevin and Lexi, we hope all of your wishes come true! Happy Birthday to two of our friends who don't mind sharing a party!
We'll be back next week to wrap up October, including having a big Halloween Party! Here are our plans:
Tuesday: We're heading to visit Wisteria and friends at The Mariners' Museum today for a "spooky" lesson! That's all we know, but it sure sounds interesting. The weather forecast looks great for spending time outside, so bring a bagged lunch. Arc shirts optional.
Wednesday: We will volunteer at GCOC this morning, so please wear Arc shirts. We'll also begin preparing for tomorrow's Halloween party with some food and decoration preps. There will be a celebration of Candy Corn Day, too, and we will start a new read-aloud! Lunch on your own. Microwave available. JRES Cafeteria is serving Popcorn Chicken Bowl or Hot Dog.
Thursday: Happy Halloween! Today will be spent doing all kinds of fun activities as we party all day. Costumes are optional. Lunch and party treats are courtesy of our WOTM friends who gave us an extra donation after the golf touranment. Thank you, Patti and WOTM for sponsoring our Halloween party (and future Christmas party since we saved some of the donation)!! We'll enjoy chicken nuggets, meatballs, fruit salad, and fresh veggies for lunch!
Friday: Today is a PSP Work Day so please wear Pet Supplies Plus shirts. It's also the first of November so we will update our calendar and remove Halloween decorations to make room for a Thanksgiving makeover! We'll have a Mystery Science lesson to suit the season, and we'll end the week with yoga with Jaime, so dress to stretch. Lunch on your own. Microwave available. JRES Cafeteria is offering Cheeseburger or Fish Sticks.
Everyone have a great weekend,
Lisa, Carol, Nan, and the AoA Gang
