9th Annual WOTM Charity Golf Tournament

WOW!  What an amazing golf tournament Patti and the Women of the Moose (WOTM) put on today to benefit The Arc of Great Williamsburg, Arc of Abilities Day Program, Mooseheart, and Moosehaven!  From start to finish, everything was smooth sailing and SO MUCH FUN!  Lisa took a lot of pictures, as did Carol and other friends, so we have many, many to share.  Let's just jump in to a blog post that hopes to do this SUPER SUCCESSFUL tournament justice!

Patti set the mood and it was a great one!  She thanked Drew (shown with her) and the beautiful Kiskiack Golf Club, the generous sponsors, the hard-working Moose and other volunteers, the dedicated players (26 teams!), and the Arc of Abilities friends/staff who rocked as Arc Ambassadors!  We thank YOU, PATTI, for your endless hours of work on our behalf.  You make it look easy, but we know it takes a lot of time and patience, and we're so thankful that you are committed to making this tournament such a success!

Arc of Greater Williamsburg Executive Director, Pam, echoed Patti's sentiments and also thanked everyone involved, especially PATTI and the WOTM!  With Patti's leadership, this year's sponsor list was longer than ever, and The Arc is very, very grateful!  Pam told the crowd that this is The Arc of Greater Williamsburg's 49th year serving our "amazing clients" and you could hear a few "oohs and ahhs" in the background.

Before the tournament officially got underway, there was some prep work.  We decorated golf carts that our volunteers Alexis, Patrick, Laura, Devin, Bryan, and Liz would ride in as we meandered along the course giving thanks to the players.  They also handed out the fans we made and chatted with many of the golfers, demonstrating their excellent social skills!

Nan was proud to see Team APEX playing today since Kelly and Scott are two of her favorite family members!  Carol and Sue hung our colorful "THANK YOU" signs on the carts, and Denise and Patti posed with the LONG list of raffle prizes, surrounded by pictures of their favorite AoA friends!

Once the tournament began, our Arc Ambassadors got to work...working the course!  Again, their excellent social skills were on display, and we enjoyed watching the great job they did!  Each team they chatted with said they were having a good time, and when we thanked them for supporting The Arc, they thanked us for what we do!  That gave us a great feeling! 

The skies were overcast for most of the morning, and it was quite warm, but there was a slight breeze.  We were all thankful for that!  Patti and WOTM provided cooling towels for the golfers.  That's Lexi's cousin Kelly, our friend from APEX PT, demonstrating how useful hers was!
