Still Hanging In There...

So, this week's blog will be a bit shorter than last week's mega-edition and that's OK!  We have fewer pictures to share, probably because it's really hard to come up with different things to show for how we're spending our time AFTER 7 LONG WEEKS of this!

In fact, we got this beauty from Drew along with the caption of, "June 10 is how far away???"  We hear ya, Drew! 😲

We really enjoy getting pictures of anyone and everyone, even if they think it's not so "exciting" to see what they are (or are not) doing.  Keep them coming!  We just love seeing you! πŸ₯°

During week 7, we celebrated Devin's birthday during our Tuesday Zoom meeting.  This was Carol delivering cards from his friends on Monday afternoon.

He gave us an update on Thursday that his family made a yummy meal of meatballs and marble cake for him!  Happy 24th Birthday, Devin!

We hope all your wishes come true!  You look like you made the best of a tough situation.  We're proud of you!

A few more pictures of finished cake kits came in this week.  Sam's Surprise continued to bring joy!  That looks very appetizing, Cameron!

Alexis saved her decorating fun until Haley could join her. She loves sharing fun times with her cousin!

Becky shared two cake pics....before her husband dug in, and after!  πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Kevin continues to stay busy.  While surfing on the computer, he also worked on his posture by sitting in this special chair.  Are those Wiggles videos, Kevin?!

Chores don't stop during quarantine.  Kevin had to put his laundry away!

Way to go, Kevin!  He's doing yoga with Jaime!!!

This picture will warm your heart.  Kevin's mom was doing volunteer work that involved assembling a mailing, and Kevin pitched in to help her!  All his newsletter assembly work at the AoA transferred to helping his mom at home! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Besides eating cake, Cameron also spent more time in his hot tub this week!  Don't get too comfy, now, Cam...we will be returning to work eventually!  πŸ˜‰

This looks like a fun time!  Cameron's dad told us they added a heater to their pool, so the water is perfect, even if the temperatures are still a little chilly!

Cameron and his tunes.  Miss that smile!

We continued our Eaton "work from home" project this week.  On a rainy Thursday, our dedicated drivers, Mr. Mason and Mr. Jackson, picked up two tubs Elizabeth had finished.  She's as dedicated as they are.  Thanks to all of them!

Alexis took over the living room floor as she unpacked breaker parts.  She cleaned up when she was finished!  All the small white boxes got recycled. ♻

This was a new part for the AoA to work with, small electrical circuit breakers.

Over on Sam's deck, he unpacked larger breakers.  Hi, Sam!  Looks like you had a lot of boxes to open, too!  Thank you for your hard work, Sam!

Here are a few more photos depicting the ways our associates are spending their time.  On Wednesday, the Best Buddies from William and Mary had a Zoom session with several of our guys.  Kate, Kacie, Devin, and Alexis took part in a segment where they shared their talents.  Kate and Devin sang beautiful songs, Kacie shared her pretty knitting, and Alexis shared that she takes good care of Haley.  ALL of our guys shine in so many ways!

Liz shines at taking care of the birds at AFCC during our absence! Many thanks to her and her mom for checking on the feeders!  This week, they added a hummingbird feeder!  We had 3 hummingbirds last year, and we hope they return this year.  AWESOME, Liz!!

Laura and her family had a socially-distanced picnic on Friday with her sister Alison, brother-in-law Shawn, and nieces Olivia and Eloise.  Laura's mom said Laura was happy to be where Christina is!  Ahh, yes!  We recognize that building in the background!  And what a gorgeous day for a picnic!!

Our final pic this week is of this little, but mighty, camcorder.  It was donated to the AoA by Coach Teri and Tim, Sam's parents.  It works great, but takes a little getting used to so the videos aren't too "shaky."  Lisa is practicing and can't wait to get back to business and put this to use for documenting our adventures.  Thanks, Teri and Tim, for this wonderful gift!

Sending wishes for all to remain safe, healthy, and have a great weekend,

Lisa, Carol, Nan, and the AoA Gang
