Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to our families and friends this week!  If we were together at the AoA we would be talking about the Easter/Spring season and how it brings HOPE!  We need to keep our focus on hope as our communities continue to work together to stop the spread of the coronavirus.  Even though the number of cases is on the rise in Virginia, the news (13News Now) from James City County on Friday was that only 8 new cases had been reported since Monday and their trajectory of new cases was showing signs of flattening.  There is hope that our social distancing measures are working!  Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay home!

Here are some pictures of our AoA gang and their families from the past week.  They are finding ways to hang in there.  Keep up the good work, gang!  We're proud of you!

Finding the lambs in Colonial Williamsburg is always a fun outing.  Liz found them out grazing on a sunny morning.

Carol, David, Matt, and their dog, Callie, also enjoyed a walk in CW.  Looks like Matt was behind the camera and captured this shot of Carol, David, and Callie in the beautiful tulip garden behind the Blue Bell house!

Carol reports that the new entrance to the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg is coming along nicely.  We can't wait to get back to our regular visits there with our friend, Christina!

Look who's bundled up and on her bike!  Hi, Kate!  Hasn't the weather been wacky lately?  Warm one day and chilly the next!

It's great to see you outside in the fresh air.  Those "hot wheels" look like a lot of fun!

Check out this word on Drew's shirt:  UPTOWN.  His mom reports that he would like to be uptown, downtown...in any town if it meant the quarantine could be over!  We hear ya, Drew!  Can't wait until we can be with our AoA friends again and take a Tuesday trip...

Woot-woot!  Xavier, along with his mom and Steve, took a neighborhood walk and found objects from our scavenger hunt!

Great job, Xavier!  Looks like Steve was having fun, too.  What a pretty day for your walk!

Over at Devin's house, he and his brother Christian played a game of Guitar Hero!  It looks like they were really into it.  We'll have to ask Devin what he thought about this "old school" game!  Fun!

Haley turned 2 last week!  Her "Frozen" party had to be canceled, but Alexis and Lisa got to see her for a very small family celebration.

Alexis also completed the Toy Story 4 puzzle that Patrick let her borrow.  It took a few days to get all 400 pieces together, but she stuck with it.  Great job, Alexis!  Thanks for sharing it, Patrick!

Lisa and Alexis enjoyed watching Mystery Doug Live on Tuesday.  He was coming to us from his living room in San Francisco.  His two young daughters joined him.  It was fun to see his kids and hear his voice.  He also had a friend join who showed us how to make animals and other things using aluminum foil.  It was interesting!

On Tuesday morning, Lisa and Alexis took Sam the birthday cards his AoA friends sent him.  He was so happy to get all those cards! They got to visit for a while by sitting on Sam's porch and talking to him and his mom through the glass door!  Sam is holding Rusty.  Bella missed the photo op!

They took a selfie with Sam and Coach Teri!  It was really nice for them to get to see each other, and it was safe, too!

Later on Tuesday morning, the ENTIRE gang met on Zoom for a virtual birthday party for Sam!  It was great to see everyone!!

Because they have both been following strict quarantine guidelines and staying in their homes for over two weeks, Sam was able to have his friend JD over to spend his birthday with him.  Many of our friends also know JD, and it was nice to get to see him, too!

Happy 33rd Birthday, Sam!  We hope you had a fabulous day and that all your wishes come true this year!

Last week we saw that Cameron was enjoying a milkshake, and the week before that he was having fries.  This week, he's making another one of his favorite treats:  popcorn!

He's using an air popper, too.  That's a healthy and tasty snack.  We hope you enjoyed it, Cameron!  It looks yummy!

Kevin also caught Mystery Doug Live on Tuesday!  Did you like seeing Doug's familiar face, Kevin?

In this picture, Kevin is working on stretches.  His mom said he isn't able to see his physical therapist during the quarantine, so she is helping him keep up with his stretches in the meantime.  Good job, Kevin!

Here's Kevin's Dad getting a bonfire going in the backyard.  That looks like a fun way to spend an evening at home!

On Thursday we played virtual Bingo!  Xavier's friend Steve, in the bottom square on the screen, was our guest announcer.  Thank you, Steve!  You did a great job and Bingo was FUN!

Here's Sam's Bingo card.  He used some pretty cool coins for markers!  Thanks to Drew and his mom Donna, for suggesting virtual Bingo and for finding the cards for us to print and use!  We may have to do this again!

After Bingo, Lisa switched over to a video of one of our favorite songs, "I Like to Move It," so we could sing and dance together.  It was an experiment to see if we could show video clips during our Zoom sessions, and it worked!

We had some warm days this week.  Abraham sat on his patio and drew pictures.  We miss seeing your artwork at the center, Abraham.  This is a very pretty picture!

Liz was out walking on one of those warm days and she ran into Mr. Stutt who was walking his dog, Jamie!  He said he was doing well, but he misses us. 😔  They kept a safe social distance from each other, but will be happy when we can get closer.

Liz and her mom also went back down to AFCC to check on the birdfeeders.  It's so thoughtful of them to do that for us, and we appreciate it.

It seems the birds aren't eating much of the bird seed.  With the nice weather, they must be finding their own food.  Maybe fresh berries in the woods or even worms?  Our tulips are pretty, aren't they?!

We'll end this week with a picture of someone we all know and love...but who is missing his regular haircut appointments!  My, Drew...your hair grows fast!  😂😎😍😂

Thanks everyone for sending the pictures.  Even though we are mostly doing the same things over and over again, it's still nice to see each other and keep the blog going.  We will enjoy looking back on our quarantine days...one of these days!

Happy Easter,

Lisa, Carol, Nan, and the AoA Gang
