Special Edition: Golf Tournament

Wow!  What a great time we had at the Ladies of the Williamsburg Moose Lodge's golf tournament on Saturday!  The Arc of GW, as well as our Arc of Abilities (AoA), are among the recipients of the proceeds from this tournament, and we are grateful for such a successful event!  Enjoy this special edition of our blog, devoted  solely to the golf tournament.  And check out our new blog theme, too!

Our Executive Director, Pam, and Board President, Andy, posed proudly beside The Arc's recently acquired banner.  That's our Drew (Andy's son), too!

Alexis helped with registration and sold mulligans to the players!

Here, Liz's dad, Greg, registers.  He couldn't play today, due to an injury, but he signed up anyway, and brought some friends!  That's Patti, our Moose Lodge friend, in the picture, too!

Liz and Kacie helped sell raffle tickets.

Here's Sam welcoming Devin to the mix.  Sam had "worked the registration crowd" as he was an early bird!  Both of these guys are charmers!

Patti showed Carol how to operate her camera so Carol could get extra pics for the Moose ladies.  It's kind of fancy!

Two friends, happy to see each other on a Saturday morning!  Devin and Kacie also worked the crowd!

That's Greg, Liz's dad, on the left.  He was practicing on the putting green...and wished he was up to playing the course.  His wrist was injured earlier this year when he struck a root while playing.  Hope he's back on the greens soon!

Patrick, Devin, and Sam were surprised to find out we all had carts to use.  They probably thought Lisa was going to make them walk the course!

We are so thankful for all of our volunteers, and for the family members who were able to help out, too.  Devin's Dad, Todd, and Pat's mom, Sue, are shown here with Pam and Patti.

Kacie's dad, Frank, was on hand to help, too.  He's shown here with Alexis and Moose friend, Tracy.

There were 16 teams in the tournament!  Here are a few of them dispersing after opening remarks.

Where in the world is Sam?  He's the one waving from his cart!  Can you spot him?

This is Kacie's brother, Charlie, off to start his round.  He plays for the Menchville High School boys' team in Newport News, and is seeded 2nd!  Yay, Charlie!

Liz, Lisa, Devin, and Devin's dad, Todd were assigned to the 17th hole.  They had a beautiful view of the James River and a nice breeze, too!

Here's Kacie on duty as the flag puller on the 13th hole.  We kept on our toes all morning!

Liz pulled the flag on the 17th hole.

Laura's family couldn't be with us at the tournament, but they sponsored a hole.  Thank you, Palmers, for this support!

The golfers on this friendly team let Devin and Liz take a turn.  Devin putted the ball right into the hole from about 6 feet away!

Liz came very close!  All of the golfers were friendly and seemed to enjoy interacting with us.
😎

Here's Patti with her team, which included Kacie's dad, Frank (far left), and her brother, Charlie (beside Frank).  Frank is almost back to speed from a shoulder injury, so he opted to caddy today.

Under Patti's watchful eye, Charlie tried for a birdie on the 17th hole.  He was only millimeters short.  Way to go, Charlie!  You have a bright golf future ahead of you!

We had a little down time while waiting for the teams to come to our holes.  Pat and his mom, Sue, chilled on the golf cart!

This was Kacie and Carol's camp spot on the 13th hole!  It really was a relaxing morning.

Todd helped Devin master pulling the pin, or flag.  He also educated Lisa on the game of golf, which was very helpful.  He, too, is recovering from an injury (back), so couldn't play.  We hope our golfing dads are all better by next year's tournament!

We had a great time at the River Course at Kingsmill this morning.  Our sincerest thanks go out to the Women of the Williamsburg Moose Lodge and Kingsmill Resort for their support of The Arc of Greater Williamsburg and our Arc of Abilities day support program!  Thanks again to our AoA families for their help and support, as ALWAYS!  You guys are the best!
