It was a beautiful and crisp fall morning for the 16th Annual Williamsburg Landing 5k Run/Walk for The Arc. Many Arc friends, AoA members and their families, Arc board members, and community friends were in attendance and everyone had a great time walking and/or running! We're grateful to Williamsburg Landing for hosting this huge fundraiser for the Arc, and to all of the staff and residents for welcoming us. Many thanks to our generous sponsors, too.
Here are a few pictures from a great morning.
Kevin's mom, Debbie, his sister Julia, and adorable new nephew Daniel came for the walk, but Kevin had to miss the event due to sniffles. That was also the case for Liz. They were missed and we hope they both feel better soon! Pet Supplies Plus was a sponsor and Scott and Devin were in attendance. It was great to see Gail and her brother and sister-in-law, Ashley and Zelda, too. Sue was working the event and did a great job matching Arc clients with W&M buddies, which put smiles on everyone's faces, including Patrick's and Lexi's!

Arc staff member Kellie, who was instrumental in helping the Arc team plan this event, was out of town celebrating her husband's class reunion at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. She would be proud of her colleagues and several Arc board members who saw to it that things went smoothly. Here, Kasey and board member Kristin posed with Alexis. Executive Director Pam, who was a wonderful program emcee, posed with Alexis and Moose Patti. Also shown are board member Diane, who manned the raffle table, and the Arc's Caroline, who was at the registration table checking everyone in. Pam and the Arc team, including board members, should feel very proud of how well the 5k went and how much fun it was for all!

5k sponsors, APEX PT and Movement Center, were represented by our friends Kelly, Scott, Haley, and Jordan. Our friends from WOTM, Shelly and Allison, joined us and are shown here with Carol. Behind them is another Arc board member, Bobby. Alexis is shown with "junior" WOTM friend Abigail, and W&M Buddy, Jordan. Lisa was delighted to run into sisters Desiree and Annette, who were students of hers about 17 years ago! This was their first 5k ever!

We are grateful to Moose Patti for organizing a WOTM team that included many members. We weren't able to catch up with all of them for photos, but we hear they had a blast. Michelle didn't walk with us this year, but she and her mom came to show support and Devin and Lexi were happy to see her and Simba! 😊
We got a couple of action shots of Bryan and his mom, Karen. They did the 5k and were on the move! Bryan's dad Dave was ahead of them, too. Great job, Bryan and family!!
We're also grateful to our Tribe athletes. Members of the Women's Basketball team and the Baseball team were in full force as buddies for Arc members. They provide encouragement, friendship, and fun. To say we love them is an understatement!
Here, we caught Patrick and his W&M buddies crossing the finish line. Yay, Patrick!!! Not far behind him was Arc friend, Katie, who made the walk with Patrick's dog, Kona! It was a stellar day for the 16th annual 5k. Thanks to everyone who supported it this year, and we hope to see you next year for #17!
